The "unofficial" sick day..

Every morning the kids come into our bedroom and say, can we pleeeeeease stay home from school today?
We laugh and say, no, and they go on their merry (or not so merry) way.
This morning was the same except when they asked me again
I said "give me 5 reasons you want to stay home"...
Because we are SICK...
1. "Sick" of school
2. "Sick" of being bored at school
3. "Sick" of being bossed around by teachers at school
4. "Sick" of not having enough time to do anything at school
5. "Sick" of not being at home so we can help you

They had me at "so we can help you"...
So what do you do when you stay home from school because you are "sick"?

You have breakfast in bed because we would not like
it if you had to move around too much...You get caught up on kid errands because the
less stressed you are, the more healthy you are...You make them fold all of those annoying socks
(gotta take advantage of them being home, right?)You go to the dollar theater to see a movie (with treats)
because it gets your mind off of being "sick"...You have a serious game of rock band because dancin' around
works the sickness out, right?

But all good things must come to an end, as I tuck my wee ones in bed... for I am sure visions of their next "unofficial sick" day are dancing in their heads.

The end.

Yay for you!
I've been kicking around the same idea. We're all sick of schedules around here. A day off sounds wondrously pleasant!

You have inspired me to let my kids have a "sick" day!
I need them to be home "sick" sometimes so I can have a few more helping hands around here :)

Looks like you had fun with the kiddos.. I have let my kids have a unofficial sick day too. It is good for them every once and blue moon.

What a cute mom you are. The Kids don't have school monday probably so the Teachers can have a "Sick" day. Maybe I will have a sick day from work and spend the day with the kids.

I remember times when my mom let me stay home just for fun, but I don't remember doing all those fun things! :) You sure do a great job at creating memories with your kids!
