Shots of gold...

Meet Bri-
Bri is Hailey's nurse that has to come once a month to give Hailey her
shot of 'gold'.
We call it the shot of gold because it is a shot to prevent RSV in preemie babies and
ONE dose costs $1700.00.
Yes that is one thousand, seven hundred dollars for one tiny shot.
I about choked when I found out how much it was!
Luckily we only had to pay for two doses out of pocket and our insurance company gets to pay for the other 6.
It is so expensive it comes in a foam box filled with ice, has to be signed for and immediately refrigerated.
We are grateful they have these great medicines and for the nice nurses we get to meet even if we have to pay an arm and a leg for them!
Thankfully, she has not gotten RSV so we can truly say we are
thankful for this shot of 'gold'!

Yikes!!! Becki, it is amazing what we have to sacrifice for our little ones. Usually it is money, but hey it's just money right. That was the last shot-right? The foam box reminded me when I got my shots in the mail. The tummy shots for Teva's pregnancy.
