Prepare to gain 10 lbs...

The warm weather has returned and play dates have begun which means after school snacks are a must. We pulled out our most favorite cookie recipe by G'ma Madsen:

Homemade Oreos.

My kids devour these, I devour these, Jason devours these. My tummy is happy but my morning workout just went out the window. Trust me, you won't be able to resist such a temptuous heavenly creation!
ENJOY!
Homemade Oreos

1 Devils food cake mix
1/2 cup butter (one stick)
2 eggs

Mix ingredients and form into balls. Put on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350* for 8-10 minutes. Let cool completely.
Meanwhile mix 4 oz. softened cream cheese, 1/4 cup softened butter,1 tsp. vanilla and 1 cup powdered sugar.
Put a Tbs. between two cookies and enjoy!

I LOVE those cookies too. They don't last long around here.

Mmmmmm! They had those as treats after choir practice 2 weeks ago and I could only have one...it was so hard not to take more!

Becki,
I sooo agree. Tai doesn't want a birthday cake, he asks for oreo cookies-for the last three years.

Thanks for the invite! I've had so much fun looking at your blog for the past 30 minutes. Your kids are adorable and it looks like you need a mother of the year award!

Homemade Oreos have been a favorite since Hyrum had me get his friend Trent Linton's mom's recipe years ago. - Makes me want one right now.

So, forgive me now, but I also make these cookies with lemon cake mix/lemon forsting OR carrot cake mix/cream cheese frosting. SO delightful!!
