The weekend...

We had a great weekend and it actually felt like a normal weekend!
We haven't had a weekend where we get Jason to ourselves in a long time-it was
wonderful!
We started the weekend off by taking all of the kids on a 3 mile hike up Mount Cutler and having a picnic at the top. It was a beautiful hike- the smell and colors of the mountain, having the whole family (including my cute niece!) together made it a perfect day.
Our little girls love their daddy!

A great view of the city...
don't we live in such a beautiful world?
For the fourth of July, we played hard, worked hard and as Savannah is demonstrating...
slept hard!
Logan decided to show his patriotism by crashing into our wall and scraping his nose into the perfect letter I for 'Independence' Day.
He didn't think us calling him Mr. I man was very funny...

We had a delicious BBQ but the signature dish was the dessert Jason and the boys made...
homemade coconut ice cream, homemade chocolate mousse ice cream and homemade biscotti.

Oh me, oh my..
It was so good it almost made me cry!

It rained the whole fourth of July weekend so unfortunately there were no fireworks.

All in all it was a delightful weekend ...
When times together are sparse due to Jason's schooling, we sure learn to treasure every moment we get together!

What a wonderful weekend! Filled with family time. The ability to do just what you want to do is one of the wonderful blessings of this country.
