Capturing a moment of beauty...

I was out in the forest taking pictures of a family when I came across this web.
Usually I just pass them by but this one caught my attention. Maybe it was the reflection of the sun rays or the intricate pattern of the web; or maybe it was because I saw the spider at the top working on his latest catch, stopping only for a brief moment as if to say, 'come on, don't do it....I worked so hard on this!'

I don't like spiders but for a moment I saw beyond the usual intimidation of webs and was able to see the awe, beauty and wonder that other creatures are capable of making.
I told the family to watch out for the web and we started walking when I heard  'ha ha ha' followed by a scream from the five year old boy who had just demolished the web with a stick and in the process gotten it all over him...
*sigh*
boys will be boys
Thank goodness for cameras that can capture fleeting moments!

You can even make a spider web look beautiful. AND you made me feel bad for the spider.

I agree with Emily. You sure know how to capture the beauty in anything. It really is amazing!
