The lost art of home canning....

My friend Brooke and I decided to welcome in the first day of Autumn by canning a ton of peaches. It was a lovely morning and it amazed us what an abundance of peaches can make. Everything from peach salsa, spiced peach butter, peach syrup and peach pie filling! I wish we had the time to can more!

So Scrumptious! Becki...those pictures are amazing. They show the beauty of that white-peach color that kept us ooh-ing and ahh-ing all afernoon..."Oh! Just look at the color of that peach butter. Gorgeous!", "Oooh, divine. Have you ever seen prettier salsa?" It's nearly as fun to coo over canning as to smooch on that dear baby of yours.
Thanks to this autumn day, I've had a turn-around in thinking. As much as I've hated the peach paint on my house, I'm could suddenly live forever with peach enshrouding our humble abode. Peaches in the pantry. Peaches in our belly. Peeling peach paint on the windowsill. Oh, peach. peach. peach. You are such a delightsome hue.
It was delightsome, wasn't it? (So much better that the year we canned green tomatoes! Ick.)
