With Thanksgiving around the corner, we decided to teach our kids to have better manners at the table. I came across this idea long ago and decided to finally use it and BOY does it work!
Meet Mr. Pig...
No one likes Mr. Pig
because when we act like a 'pig' at the dinner table,
(burps, reaching over someones plate, yelling, slurping, etc.)
Mr. Pig gets passed to them.
Whoever ends up with Mr. Pig at the end of the meal must clear the whole table.
Notice how happy Carson is with Mr. Pig by his plate...

Cute way to remind kids to have good manners! When my kids were little we had a book and tape of Mr Manners in Manner's town.!
Guess what I will be on the look-out for this weekend? Carrington is so into burping, but I am worried that she will ignore me when I tell her to help me clear the table and just think that she scored a new piggy friend.
Love this idea!!!
You are a genius! I love creative solutions like this.
We SO did this tonight at dinner and Mr. Pig has now earned a permanent spot at our dinner table. I'm going to share this and link back to you ~ thanks!! :)
Just wanted to let you know that we loved your idea so much we decided to try it out with our family. It worked wonders, and inspired us to reference your blog for our very first blog entry! Thanks so much!
What an awesome idea!!! Someone pinned this on Pinterest and that's how I found it... thanks for sharing this amazing idea.. I linked up on my site!

Saw this on Pinterest and I had to say....That's a VERY good idea. I have all boys! So far, my rule is: If anyone burps or passes gas at MY table, they must be excused to eat their dinner in the bathroom. It has worked, but I like the pig idea for those "bad manners" and yelling and being nasty to each other. I'm going to use this idea. THANK YOU!
hi,
one of my friends posted your "ransom box" on pinterest and i loved it so much that i was reading through your blog. You are so clever and funny. oh my gosh i don't think i have ever laughed so hard in a very long time. i have 4 kids and one on the way, i am in need of some tips, especially with their manners at the table and picking up their crap. thank you for this post and for real advice that really works.
Jenny
