New York...part two

After Buffalo, Jason and I headed to New York City.
All I can say is
W
O
W
It is truly a remarkable place-
a place full of non-stop action, art, beauty, history, delicious food, amazing shows and an insanely large amount of people.

Jason was an expert at getting around NYC
so I sure held his hand tight so I didn't get lost!

This is a picture from our hotel room, if you look closely you can see the angel Moroni sticking out on the right side, it was neat to see a Temple right smack in the middle of busy downtown New York!
We were able to see where the Twin Towers once stood.
It was truly humbling to see it in person and to think back about the awful
tragedy that happened on September 11.
And
it was also wonderful to see what they are doing to rebuild it.

And of course...
The Statue of Liberty.
We took a ferry to the island where the Statue of Liberty
stands and also stopped by Ellis Island on the way back.
A great view of the city from the ferry.

Ellis Island-
From 1892 to 1954, over twelve million immigrants entered the United States through Ellis Island. It was fascinating to read the stories of some immigrants. I took a particular interest in this family's story. They had six kids and ALL of them would work from morning to late evening. No time for play, no time for game stations, just work. I wanted to share it with my kids to prove to them that they have a pretty good life and to be grateful that we do live in such a wonderful and free country.
More New York to come...

Looks like you had a great time. It really makes you appreciate going home, but boy it is fun to be free!

Good pic of you and Jason. Isn't the Statue of Liberty magnificant - just makes you bust with pride and being an American living in this grand nation of freedom. Thanks to all of our ancestors who heard the "call" and came.
